A road sweeper vehicle overturned on the motorway this evening causing huge delays.
The vehicle turned over on the M60 between junction four at Kingsway and junction five at Princess Parkway at around 5.40pm on Wednesday March 3.
Emergency services were called, and the motorway was closed clockwise between the two junctions.
At around 8.20pm that evening, a National Highways North West statement said: “The M60 in Greater Manchester remains closed clockwise between J4, Kingsway and J5, Princess Parkway due to an overturned road sweeper.
“Recovery is ongoing and the vehicle is now back on its wheels.
“There are still long delays approaching the closure at J4.”
The emergency services were able to help drivers who were caught in the closed off section of motorway make their ways out but continued to warn of long delays later into the evening.
At one stage, delays reached lengths of up to 45 minutes.
