They might not look as though they are ready for the pool and that’s because these workmen had been helping to renovate Bolton’s High Street Baths in 1937.
No doubt many Looking Back readers will remember the baths in Daubhill.
At either side of the pool were the individual changing cubicles. The wooden chairs stacked in front of them would be for spectators when swimming galas were held there.
The baths, which opened in 1903, closed in 1985 after structural faults proved too costly to repair.
