A car was left abandoned after police say they saw it “driving at speed.”

Officers were on patrol in the Halliwell area when they say they saw the car being driven on Oxford Grove.

They later found it abandoned and on investigating further found that it was uninsured.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team were out on patrol this morning in when they noticed this vehicle driving at speed on Oxford Grove.

“The vehicle was found abandoned nearby and enquiries established that the vehicle had no insurance in place.

“The vehicle was seized under S165 of the Road Traffic Act and enquiries are ongoing to identify the driver.”

This comes amid long running concerns about anti-social driving, including people driving without a licence or insurance, across Bolton and Greater Manchester in recent times.
