It’s almost Easter which comes really early this year - next Friday is Good Friday - and this got us to thinking about this special holiday from years gone by.
We have delved into the archive and come up with a selection of photographs from the 1980s which show how schools and organisations marked the occasion.
Easter bonnets, chicks and decorated eggs have all proved popular over the years and remain so to this day.
Perhaps you are one of the youngsters taking part in one of the featured school events or recognise someone on one of the photographs.
If you are holding any Easter events this year, do let us know and we will try to feature them in the Bolton News.
You can send details and photos to newsdesk@theboltonnews.co.uk.
In the meantime we hope you enjoy looking at this photos from more than 40 years ago and have a happy Easter in 2024!
