The Best Bar None scheme operates in Bolton.
Chairman of the Bolton Pub Watch Dave Cottam, who works as the designated premise supervisor at the Swan and Barrister, has been among those to work on the initiative.
At his premise he has taken upmost steps to ensure safety.
People entering are searched and there was warnings about spiking and customers can Ask for Angela.
Under this scheme they ask Angela is present and a staff member will discreetly get them out of the area.
After an incident where a customer elsewhere in Bolton got into a taxi which was not verified and unsafe they brought in Get Home Safe, where taxis are booked in advance and display door stickers with the licence clearly displayed.
They must also have a licence plate at the front and rear showing the registration number and drivers must wear a badge.

Mr Cottam has put together an extensive manual, which can be shared with others, on how to keep a bar or club safe.
He said: “Everybody in Best Bar None has to show that the staff have training.
“We recently got given a platinum on this which is just below diamond, we hope to get diamond next.
“We did not have full first aid but we are getting this.
“We give training to our staff, we find students may want to go on and run a pub, we had one who had gone on to get her own pub in Leyland.”
