Bolton has been chosen as one of the first locations in a tour of Comic Con Mania.
The new series of Comic Cons by Monopoly Events is similar to the big UK wide tours, but this time they will take place on one day, provide cheaper tickets, with four to six celebrity guests.
Comic Con is a celebration of comic book and pop culture with everything from Marvel, DC to Harry Potter, various anime shows, and other fantasy TV and film worlds.
The first new event will be hosted at Bolton Arena.
A spokesman said: “Comic Con Mania is coming to the Bolton Arena on May 18.
“The UK’s leading pop culture event organisers Monopoly Events have chosen Bolton as one of the first locations in a UK tour of pop culture crazy shows named Comic Con Mania.
“Celebrity guests announced so far include Rocky Horror’s Patricia Quinn and stars of Dr Who Peter Davison and Sarah Sutton.
“At the event you will see cosplayers dressed as their favourite characters from TV and Film, some will also take part in our cosplay masquerade and championship.

Comic Con events prove a huge draw for people in and around Bolton.
“Comic Con Mania is a pop culture fans dream with gaming, anime, manga, jaw dropping set and prop recreations, board gaming, trade stands, comics, workshops, interactive Q&A and more.
“Comic Con is fun for all the family. Tickets are just £10, £5 concessions and under 5s are free of charge.”
The Comic Mania shows will still feature the famous cosplay competition and parade, retro and current gaming, a selection of traders, and set builds and props from loved TV and films.
