Trains are currently delayed or cancelled from Bolton due to no crews available for the Northern network.

All lines on the Northern train network are affected due to a lack of train crew available.

Trains running to and from Bolton are affected by this announcement, which means fewer trains are running or none at all.

Northern put out an announcement on social media network, X, saying: "Due to train crew being unavailable fewer trains are able to run on all lines.

"Services across the whole Northern network will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

"Disruption is expected until the end of the day."

Northern Tickets will be accepted on the Manchester Metrolink as well as on TransPennine Express.

A spokesman from Northern said: "Train services running across the whole Northern network will be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes.

"Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

"Customers are advised services may be cancelled, altered, delayed or replaced by road transport.

"We advise customers to check on-line journey planners prior to travelling and to allow extra time to complete their journeys.

"Please see station information posters for the location of bus pick up points and be advised journey times will be extended when using replacement road transport."
