Six drivers were caught speeding on a major Bolton road in just 40 minutes, police say.
Officers say that the drivers were stopped along Moss Bank Way over the course of a brief period on Thursday March 7.
Moss Bank Way is one of the main arteries through the northern part of the town and cuts through Doffcocker, Smithills, Halliwell and Astley Bridge.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “In just 40 minutes we stopped six drivers for exceeding the speed limit on Moss Bank Way.
“The highest being 45mph in the 30mph zone.”
This comes shortly after the launch of Operation Classify, aimed at reducing death and serious injury on the roads in Bolton.
According to GMP, the borough saw 71 serious collisions in 2022, with nine fatalities, with the trend continuing into 2023.

The force says excessive speeding, as well as drink and drug driving, and poor driver standards have been the main key causes of road traffic collisions in the area.
