Bolton GP Federation treat their employees right - and that is official.

It has become the first 'federation' in Greater Manchester to be awarded membership status of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.

The charter is a voluntary membership scheme, created to improve employment standards across all Greater Manchester employers, regardless of size, sector or geography.

And now Bolton GP Federation joins a wide range of organisations including local employers Bolton Council and Carrs Pasties in having the charter.

The federation employs over 400 staff in a variety of clinical and non-clinical roles across Bolton and Greater Manchester.

Chief Officer, Michael Smith, said: “Our commitment to good employment applies to all our staff, regardless of how much, or how often they work for us.

“We firmly believe in supporting our staff, treating them well and having a good all-round employment offer, including salary, terms and conditions, employee voice, recognition and engagement, because we know this is a key factor in delivering the level and quality of services the people of Bolton deserve.

“We are incredibly proud to be the first federation in Greater Manchester to have achieved this charter and are sharing our learning with our fellow federations to encourage them along the journey.”
