A man accused of abusing three young boys has said he had a sexual encounter with one as an adult – after he had reported the matter to the police.
Norman Williams has also said his accusers wrongly believed he was awarded over £1m in compensation for his role in the "Bolton 7" – the group who were convicted for sexual activity with a 17-year-old who later received an apology.
The 58-year-old has been on trial at Bolton Crown Court.
Williams, of Leigh Road, Atherton, is accused of three counts of rape and nine counts of indecent assault against the first complainant.
He is also accused of four counts of indecent assault, three of rape and one of actual bodily harm against the second complainant.
And against the third complainant he is accused of one indecent assault.

He took to the stand at the trial.
Mr Buckle asked him if he had been engaged in sexual activity with the first complainant.
He replied: “I have had sexual activity with both of them.”
He was asked: “Do you say that that sexual activity was consensual?”
He replied: “Consensual.”
Mr Buckle then asked how old the first complainant was when this took place.
Williams said he “would have been 17 years old".
He was also asked about the third complainant, against whom he is accused of a single indecent assault.
Williams replied: “Never happened, I know nothing about it.”
He was then asked if he knew why the first two complainants were “making allegations that you say are false".
Williams said: “Yes, they think I have got money from the Bolton 7 case.
“They heard it was £1million and three quarters split between us.”
The court heard previously he group were given £15,000 in compensation each.
Simon Blakebrough, prosecuting, then cross-examined Williams.
He was asked when sexual activity with the second complainant had taken place.
He said: “2019.”
Mr Blakebrough then asked: “Where did that take place?”
Williams replied: “My house.”
He was then asked if there had been sexual activity between 2003 and 2019.
He said: “I can’t recall.”
Mr Blakebrough asked: “There was a sexual activity after the he reported a string of abuse to the police, after he provided a video recorded interview?”
Williams replied: “Yes.”
Blakebrough then asked why this was not put to the second complainant by Mr Buckle when he was cross examined.
He said: “Is the reason that was not put is you have just made it all up?”
Williams replied: “No it isn’t.”
The trial, before Judge Jon Close, continues.
