An inquest has opened into the tragic death of a 53-year-old man as his family described him as a man who 'could light up any room'.

Jason Dymott, of Cleggs Lane, Little Hulton, died on February 18, at Amblecote Playing Fields, on the border of Farnworth and Little Hulton.

The inquest heard that despite paramedics' best efforts, Mr Dymott, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police coroners officer Robert Struttman said: “CPR was conducted, but sadly, despite our best-efforts Mr Dymott was declared dead at 10.34pm at Amblecote Playing Fields.

“Amy confirmed the identity to be her father, Jason Dymott.”

Pathologist Neil Papworth gave the medical cause of death as hanging.

Mr Dymott worked as a scaffolder in the past, the inquest heard.

A provisional inquest date has been given for May 31, to allow for more evidence to be submitted .

Area coroner for Manchester West, Peter Sigee, said: “I offer my condolences, and I am sorry I have to learn about him in this way.”

Mr Dymott’s family have since set up a GoFundMe page to help support any funeral costs.

The statement reads: “Well never in a million years did we ever think we would be doing this.

“Jay sadly left us on the 18/2/2024, leaving behind his beautiful fiancé Laura who he deeply adored, his mum Sue, his seven kids, Kelly, Amy, Aidan, Megan, Jack, Lilly, Archie, granddaughters Miley, Lottie, Hallie the rest of his family and friends.

“We would like to give Jay a send off he deserves if anyone can help us even just a little, we would really appreciate it.

“He was loved by everyone and not one person had a bad word to say about him.

“His smile was contagious, and he could light up any room he was in. He deserves the best send of anyone could possibly have.

“Thank you in advance, even if you could just donate £1 every little helps.”
