Motorists have reportedly been caught driving up to 20mph over the speed limit on a major borough road.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) say its traffic enforcement officers caught 12 motorists allegedly breaking the speed limit on Blackburn Road, Egerton, on Thursday.
At least one driver was caught speeding at 60mph on the road, on which a 40mph speed limit is imposed, police said.
The checks were carried out as part of Operation Classify, a scheme set up to reduce injury and death caused by vehicles in Bolton.
