A suspected drug dealer has been arrested after officers found wraps of cannabis in a car.
Officers had been on patrol in the Halliwell area on Wednesday February 28 when they said they said they saw a man running off from a silver Vauxhall on Slater Street.
The man was arrested and on searching the car police found that it contained cannabis and had had false plates attached.
Speaking on Wednesday, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of supplying cannabis.
“Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team detained a man seen running away from a vehicle on Slater Street in Halliwell.
“Following a search, a quantity of cannabis was found.
“The vehicle the man was seen running away from was also found to be displaying false number plates and has been seized.
“A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with the intent to supply cannabis and remains in police custody for questioning.”

This comes amid recurring concerns about drug crime all across Bolton in recent months.
Mums in the area have previously spoken about how their children are being targeted by drugs dealers as they made an impassioned plea for something to be done.
At a PACT meeting women in Bolton discussed how drugs was a huge problem that needed tackling in order to protect young children.
One resident explained that her teenage son was regularly targeted on the way home from college, with grown men asking him if he wanted drugs.
