Police patrols have been out in force cracking down on traffic offences on a busy Bolton road.

The officers from the Rumworth Neighbourhood Team were out on Dean Road over the course of last month.

One of the officers followed this up on February 18 with what police call “high visibility patrols.”

A Greater Manchester police spokesperson said: “After noticing the work the Rumworth Neighbourhood Team have been conducting on Deane Road in relation to Traffic offences, PC Wilson has been out on February 18 conducting high visibility patrols and engaging with the public to improve the driving standards in the area.

“PC Wilson has issued a number of traffic offence reports to drivers parking in bus lanes; on zig zag areas around crossings and has also spoken to a number of drivers to educate them on the hazards they present within this busy area of Bolton.

“Addressing poor driving standards is a priority within the communities of Bolton.

“If you would like to have a say on policing in your community, look out for the next PACT meeting in your local area.”

PACT meetings refer to police and partners together events, which give people the opportunity to meet and speak to officers and council officials directly to address their concerns.
