A man was arrested following an incident in the home end at Blackpool FC during the game against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday (February 24).
The 31-year-old man, from Blackpool, was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody.
Police said there were "a few" incidents inside the stadium which will be investigated in full.
They added that there was an incident before the match where a man was assaulted which is being investigated, but that it was not connected to the football.
A police spokesperson said: "We wanted to take this opportunity to thank the vast majority of fans who supported their team in a passionate and respectful manner.
"We will continue to have a presence in the town centre to ensure everybody remains safe."
Blackpool won the game 4-1 to remain in eighth place in League One, while Wanderers are third.
