The developer responsible for the Farnworth Green redevelopment said it is on track for the end of this year as it released a series of impressive images of its progress.

Capital & Centric is after independent businesses to set up shop at the site including 20,000 sq ft of commercial space as well as community hubs and almost 100 homes.

Farnworth Green is replacing the town's outdated precinct.

The 20,000 sq ft of commercial space is split into a number of units ranging from 500 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft and these are able to accommodate a range of uses including bars, cafes, restaurants and retailers. "Eclectic" is the word used by the developer, which has five schemes worth £500m under construction all across the North of England.

Tom Wilmot, a managing director for the firm, said the Farnworth Green redevelopment is on track for the end of this year in what he said is the next chapter for the town.

The Bolton News: The work on Farnworth Green

Mr Wilmot said: "We are reaching an exciting point for Farnworth where you can see the forms of the buildings taking shape. It is now time we look to the future with a callout to businesses who want to be part of the town centre's future.

"It has been brilliant working with Bolton Council who have shared our determination to drive transformation in their town centres to create attractive new spaces where people enjoy spending time.

"We want to hear from independent businesses from Bolton and beyond. The units are super flexible, with spill out spaces surrounding the green, and hundreds of residents right on their doorstep.

"There has been a lot of anticipation and interest in Farnworth Green and we cannot wait to pull back the hoardings to herald the town's next chapter."

When completed later this year, the new town centre neighbourhood will feature a mix of 97 apartments and family homes, retailers, café-bars and new green outdoor hangout spaces.
