Police recovered firearms and a possible grenade after carrying out a raid at a property in Farnworth today (20 February).
Greater Manchester Police, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit were mobilised to Milton Crescent since 8am this morning.

Officers say they executed a section 46 firearms warrant at the property and recovered a number of firearms, ammunition and a suspected grenade.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for the possession of firearms and possession of Class B drugs.

Police said that there is no wider threat to the public.
In a statement, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "This morning (Tuesday 20 February 2024), officers executed a Section 46 firearms warrant at a property on Milton Crescent in Farnworth, Bolton.
“Police recovered a number of firearms, ammunition, and a suspected grenade.

“A 23-year-old man has been arrested for possession of firearms and possession of Class B drugs. He remains in custody for further questioning.
"A scene remains in place and colleagues from NWAS, GMFRS and EOD are currently in attendance."
Police taped off an area as they carried out their enquiries.
GMFRS have been approached for a comment.
