A person was pronounced dead after police, including a Crime Scene Investigation van and “forensic tents” were called out to playing fields.
Officers were called to the scene on Amblecote Playing Fields off Cleggs Lane on the border of Farnworth and Little Hulton just before 4.30pm on Sunday February 18.
They say they had been called to a “concern for the welfare of a male.”
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Officers and emergency services attended the scene.
“Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the male was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death, and a file will now be prepared for the coroner.”

The officer were still on the scene of the largely deserted playing fields long into the evening after the sky had darkened.
They had stayed at the scene for at least four hours on Sunday evening.
An eyewitness passing by earlier that evening said: “Police and forensic tents are up just as you go into Little Hulton.
“The football fields are all taped up near the bridge as you go from Farnworth to Little Hulton.”
Anyone with any further information can call police on 101.
