The council is offering a new support service to help borough businesses.
The new Business Compliance Service will support firms when it comes to understanding the rules and regulations on environmental health, trading standards and licensing.
The specific areas where the new service can help include food safety, food labelling, product safety, fair trading, consumer rights and premises licensing.
The council’s executive cabinet member for regeneration, Cllr Akhtar Zaman, said: “It is great to offer this support to small businesses in Bolton.

“This new service will help firms make sense of regulations and compliance, hopefully taking away the stress so they can focus on the day-to-day job.”
The service operates across Greater Manchester to ensure businesses across the region can access consistent compliance support, no matter where they are based.

The project has been funded by the Regulators’ Pioneer Fund (RPF), which was formed in November 2022 when the Department for Business awarded Greater Manchester Regulatory Centre of Excellence a grant of £503,708 to deliver Business Compliance Support in Greater Manchester.
The RPF is a grant-based fund to enable UK regulators and local authorities to help create a UK regulatory environment that encourages business innovation and investment.
The current £12m round is being delivered by the Department for Science Innovation and Technology.
