Community midwives from the Bolton NHS Foundation Trust are to offer information sessions to parents who are considering a home birth.

And joining the midwives at sessions to offer information and support will be parents who have recently birthed at home.

They will sharing a valuable insight and their real-life experiences.

The groups will meet at Ingleside Birth and Community Centre between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday, February 29 and Thursday, March 21, with more dates to follow.

The sessions are open to the public and will be an informal chat with refreshments.

Janet Cotton, director of midwifery at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We are keen to promote home birth as a choice for families within our care and make sure that they have all the information they need so they can make an informed choice.

“Parents will attend our sessions to share their personal experiences and our midwives will be on hand to provide the relevant guidance and support to families considering homebirth.”
