A winner has been crowned on Channel 4’s Come Dine With Me from Bolton.

Cooking their way to being scored the highest out of the week, the latest week long series of Come Dine With Me took place in Bolton, with four lucky contestants who hoped to win the £1,000 prize.

Hairdresser Shane Mcloughlin came in last place after his royal themed dinner party didn’t quite go to plan.

While Shane’s night did not go to place, teacher Katie had the second day and fared a little better at a score of 26 to Shane’s 21 score.

Model and influencer Thandie Ndlovu scored 30 while Jay, a HR managed kept things simple with a steak and mashed potatoes combination.

But it was the week’s comedian Louis who impressed the most, with his beef wellington main course, and souffle dessert going down a treat with the other contestants.

Overall, Louis scored a total of 35 out of 40 to win the show.

He told cameras later: “It was never in doubt really, was it? I was always going to win.

“The flowery shirt did it from the start, and the food just blossomed as the night went on.”

The week was full of fun and laughter as the group become good friends over days of dinner parties with each other, albeit with some clashing between Louis and Katie, where the latter said she would pay £700 not to have dinner with the winner.

The show lasted from Monday, February 12, to Friday 16.

The Bolton News spoke to both Thandie and Shane on their experiences on the show.

Shane said: “I am not the best cook but I do like to try and work on my cooking skills.

“Since the show I have been trying new dishes and I am a lot more adventurous with spices and make things more tasty.

“I will re-do them all and do them better this time.

“I always make cheesecake and it never goes wrong usually."

She said: “I enjoy cooking so much, and it’s like therapy to me.

“I cook all sorts of food because I hate eating the same meal twice, my goodness, I love it. “
