Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to after a “surprise present” was suspected to have been stolen just before Christmas.

The parcel is believed to have been taken from a home on Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge on Wednesday, December 20 last year.

The alleged victim did not know the parcel, which was meant to be a surprise present from family members, had been stolen until a few weeks ago and police are now investigating.

Sergeant Zach Keneally, from Greater Manchester Police's Bolton district, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident after it was reported to us a few weeks after due to it being a surprise present and the victim unaware it was sent until family made contact.

“After exploring lines of evidence, including CCTV and conducting door-to-door enquiries we have identified a person we would like to identify and speak to in connection with this incident.
