A restaurant in Westhoughton appeared on a radio show to give one lucky couple the dream Valentine’s Day dinner despite being fully booked.

A woman was on air on Capital FM telling DJ Roman Kemp she could not find anywhere to book a meal with a beef wellington, her partner’s favourite meal.

The station then surprised the woman with a call from Ewe Restaurant and Bar on Chorley Road, who confirmed they had found space for the couple with a beef wellington on the menu.

Operations and marketing manager Nathan Baxter was on the radio for Ewe Restaurant and Bar.

He said afterwards: “Capital reached out to us with the Valentine's power hour they were doing and because a woman was looking for a beef wellington within the area and they reached out to ask if we would do it and we jumped at it.

The Bolton News:

“The contestant wanted to take her partner out, and though we are fully booked, we did our best because it was her partner's favourite dish and so Capital asked us to squeeze somebody in and we had a look and managed to find her a table and called her to surprise her.”

The Valentine’s Day special date night will take place tonight at 7.30pm.

Nathan added: “It was amazing and it’s Valentine's Day so we were joking around to spread the love and try to make sure we could do as much as possible to squeeze her in and add in a free bottle of prosecco.”

The restaurant is fully decorated for the day with roses on the table, and two beef wellingtons will be on the table.

Nathan said: “We’ve got bespoke cocktails like 'Ps I love Ewe' available all week.

The Bolton News:

“It’s just about spreading the love, especially as there is a cost of living crisis so making sure there is something to enjoy for everyone.
