A colourful art display is brightening up the windows of a shopping centre.
Woodbridge College students have put together an exhibition entitled True Colours, under the guidance of their art teacher Minty King and curated by Vice Principal Yvonne Heywood.
The exhibition is part of Bolton Cultural Education Partnership whereby artwork from schools and colleges across the borough are put on display.
The work is showcased in window at the front of the Market Place Shopping Centre on Corporation Street.
Yvonne said: “There are many of us with hidden physical and mental health issues or who just simply ‘feel’ invisible for a myriad of reasons.
“And we have used the brightest colours in our display because we believe everyone deserves to be seen.
“It features a piece called, ‘The Chair’ inspired by the artwork of Judith Scott, an artist born with Down Syndrome who was the first ever artist with the Syndrome to show work at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and in collections across the world.”
College Principal Marie Cullen said: “We are delighted to be included in this initiative to promote the expressive arts in schools and colleges across Bolton.

“Our college vision is to inspire our students and empower them to be successful, whatever their talents and their aspirations.
“Being creative is another way in which they are able to express themselves.”
Bolton Cultural Education Partnership exists to help ensure all pupils and students in Bolton’s schools and colleges can experience quality arts education whether it is in school or in a wider community setting.
Schools in Bolton were asked to express an interest in using the Schools’ Showcase Window in 2022 and so far, thirteen schools and one college have taken up the offer with the standard and range of work on display showcasing the amazing talents and skills of over a thousand young artists in Bolton.
