The replacement of a disused dojo with dozens of affordable homes is up for consideration in Farnworth.
Great Places applied for planning permission for the site on St Germain Street towards the end of last year.
Around a year ago the disused dojo was the home of Gouldings Martial Arts, a UK Centre of Excellence for martial arts, but now its home is around half a kilometre down the road on King Street.
Great Places wants to replace it with 36 affordable homes in the form of both one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments.

The application said: "The proposed site is located on St Germain Street and Harrowby Lane. This planning application is to utilise these plots of land to create and apartment block with 36 units.
"The proposed site is located in a residential area and the design of the apartment block is sympathetic to the surroundings."
A consultation is open on the Bolton Council planning portal and the deadline for a decision by the authorities is in April.
