A popular café in the town centre has officially reopened today following its temporary closure.

The manager of Amico Café made the decision due to kitchen maintenance work.

In a statement to their customers, they said: “We will be closed from Monday, January, 29, to Thursday, 1st February due to kitchen maintenance work.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.

“We are back open again on Sunday, February 4.

“See you soon.”

The café became famous when it appeared in the BBC One smash-hit series Happy Valley, a crime series written by Sally Wainwright and starring Sarah Lancashire.

Customers could not help but ask which table the stars sat at.

And the cafe was so thrilled with its showcase, it even created its own ‘Happy Valley sandwich’ to add to the menu.

The Bolton News: Amico Cafe

The cafe is located opposite the Market Place, and is hugely popular on weekdays and at weekends customers flock for its food and drink.

Amico Cafe recently applied for planning permission for the expansion of the site on Corporation Street after it acquired the bar next door, The Diversion, last year.

And it was given the green light by Bolton Council, following the recent planning meeting.
