Delays were caused on the M61 this morning after a skip came off a truck.
Two lanes were closed on the M61 Northbound between J5 A58 Snydale Way (Westhoughton) and J6 A6027 De Havilland Way (Horwich) as a result.
There was queuing traffic on the approach for a short period of time.
Police and National Highways attended the scene, and the accident was quickly cleared.

A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police said: “We currently have an incident on M61 Northbound, junction 5 and 6, where a skip has come off a truck.
“Lanes 1 and 2 affected at the moment.
“Police and National Highways on route.”
The accident was cleared just before 9am and traffic has started to ease, with conditions now returning to normal.
