Bolton Central Library and Museum is a welcoming place for all regardless of any additional needs people may have after its multi-million pound revamp.
The new renovated space has become more accessible than ever thanks to the addition of a Changing Places Toilet.
The Changing Places Toilets (CPT) campaign aims to create facilities so that anyone can use a toilet, regardless of their disability, to go to the shops, attend hospital appointments, enjoy community life, socialise and travel.
CPTs are described as life-changing solutions to the problem of finding clean, safe and dignified toileting facilities away from home.
A Changing Places Toilet is larger than a standard accessible WC and includes specialist equipment including a height adjustable changing bench, a peninsular toilet and a celling hoist.
CPTs are said t change lives and play a key role in making the world more accessible and equitable for well over 250,000 people in the UK alone.
In Bolton, Town Hall Chiefs say it is part of our commitment to ensure that our services meet the needs of everyone in a fair and equitable way.
We play a key role in seeking equality for our residents which means making sure that everybody is treated fairly.
The Changing Places Toilet facility at Bolton Central Library and Museum has been installed thanks to funding from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities programme.
