Mr Chaat – on Market Street - offers traditional north and south Indian cuisine, which is quick but says the manager also really good quality food.
Owner Piyush Apte has collaborated with his two-family friend’s, husband and wife Kishan Kakde and Latakshi Devadiga, to set up the venture.
Latakshi – who is also a chef - says she wants to continue her grandad’s legacy of serving traditional south east Asian cuisine and giving the people of Bolton a taste of India.

Her grandad had a small restaurant in Mangalore in India.
She said: “It’s a good collaboration together and it’s really exciting to have a business and to serve this type of food.
“I want everyone to have a taste of India, so they get to experience the special food.
“It is very authentic.
“My hobby is food.
“I have been dreaming of this since 2019, but then Covid came, but as time passed, we thought this was the right time to open.”

Kishan comes with 20 years’ experience in the industry as a pastry chef and has since changed to cook more traditional Indian food.
He added: “We want to carry on with our family recipes, with Mangalore being famous for south Indian street food such as dosa’s, idli’s, and fish.
“I am a huge foodie, and I like trying new things and have gained a lot of professional skills after working in the industry for a long time.”
Piyush says that the bond they have makes them more like family than business partners.
Piyush has worked in a variety of restaurants across the country, including some five-star restaurants, and worked his way up from being a waiter whilst he was a student.
Customers can expect options like puris, samosas, dosas, and chaats, and Piyush says that they could make curries for customers, although the selection will be limited.
There will be a soft launch menu until Monday, and after then customers can choose from the full menu.
There will also be vegan, vegetarian, and halal options available.
The restaurant was already sparking interest before it even opened officially, with many coming in to try and place orders.
Piyush will be managing the restaurant and be the front of house.
He hopes to open more restaurants in the future in the surrounding areas of Manchester.
Takeaways will also be available on Deliveroo, Just Eat, and Uber.
