A man has died following a crash that happened in Egerton earlier this evening.
The crash took place at approximately 4pm today (Tuesday) on the A666 Blackburn Road in Egerton close to Cox Green Road.
The road is closed both ways and heavy traffic is reported in the area.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Emergency services are responding to a road traffic collision on Blackburn Road in Egerton this evening (Tuesday 30 January).
"Sadly, a man died at the scene.
"Various road closures are in place and motorists are urged to find alternative routes."

Blackburn and Darwen Police were also at the scene and confirmed that the road was closed in both directions from the junction of Longworth Road to Stones Bank Road.
It is thought that the road will be closed for some time as investigations will continue into how the crash occurred.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service didn’t comment on the accident, and we have contacted North West Ambulance Service for more information.
