An author held a launch for his new book about a footballing icon.
Karlo Tasler, who is originally from Croatia but now lives in Walkden, recently released his book, 'Beyond Cristiano'.
The book focuses on the "top shelf" mentality of Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who has played for clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester United during his illustrious career.
Karlo has described the book as a "weird mix" between fiction and non fiction, where two fictional characters debate the conflicting mentalities of Ronaldo and fellow football icon, Ronaldinho.
The launch event took place at Walkden Library on Wednesday, January 24, at 7pm.
He read excerpts of the book to attendees, as well as signing books and speaking with guests about how he wrote it.

Karlo said: "I read a few chapters, spoke about the book and I had comments and questions from the attendees.
"There were quite a few Manchester United fans, and one of the characters in the book is a United fan.
"The book is about football but also about psychology, the football is used as a metaphor to present some philosophical concepts and some deeper concepts through the two fictional characters discussing people."
