A weather warning for “heavy rain” which could lead to flooding has been issued for Bolton and Bury.
The yellow Met Office weather warning applies to much of the North West of England and will be in force from noon today, Monday, until 5am on Tuesday January 30.
Road users and commuters have been warned the possible flooding could effect travel.
A Met Office statement said: “Heavy rain may lead to some flooding and impacts to travel.”
Turning to what people in affected areas could expect, it added: “Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.
“Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.
“Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.”
The warning is the latest in a serious of weather events to have hit Bolton and Bury in recent months, with Storm Isha having hit just over a week ago.
People have been advised to check if there homes or businesses are likely to be vulnerable to flooding and if they are travelling to allow extra times for their journeys.
Anyone using public transport has been warned to expect delays, while drivers have been advised to slow down and travel extra cautiously.
