All lanes have reopened on the M61 southbound following a crash.
The incident happened this afternoon (Saturday) and police had warned of delays on the motorway ahead of the Chorley junction.
A police spokesperson said: “Please be aware that due to a road traffic collision on the M61 southbound between junctions 9 to 8, lanes 1 and 2 are currently closed.
“Please find an alternative route or avoid the area where possible.”
Lanes have now reopened following recovery, police said.
