A property was raided in Bromley Cross by neighbourhood officer acting on a tip-off.

Police say they executed the warrant yesterday evening.

A spokesman for GMP Bolton North Neighbourhood Team said: "This warrant was in response to information provided to the police regarding drug dealing in the area."

In an unconnected incident police said they  arrested a 45-year-old man  on suspicion of  theft of a vehicle and fraud yesterday after a vehicle was stolen in Bromley Cross last week.

A Bolton North GMP spokesperson said: "As we continue to tackle vehicle crime and burglary in the area, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team and Neighbourhood Tasking Team have made an arrest. He remains in police custody for questioning."

Police also say they arrested a Westhoughton woman over shoplifting.

Melody Adamson from Higher Southfield, Westhoughton, was jailed after appearing at the magistrates courts, say police.

A spokesperson from GMP Bolton West said: "The Bolton West Neighbourhood Team arrested Melody Adamson of Higher Southfield in Westhoughton for three shoplifting offences and a public order offence.

"She was interviewed by the Bolton south shoplifting team and charged with all four offences.

"Adamson appeared at Greater Manchester Magistrates Court  and was given a 19 week prison sentence.

"She was also served with a two year Criminal Behaviour Order prohibiting her from entering various retail premises in Westhoughton."
