Final preparations are underway for the opening of Bolton's Food Hall - and traders are being invited to explore the opportunities that could be open to them in the new multi-million pound complex.
The food hall will open in Bolton Market this spring and will include nine new trading units serving just under 200 customers.
And businesses interested in taking on one of the units will have a chance to view the new food hall at a drop-in open day on Thursday, February 8 from 3pm to 6pm.
Council cabinet member for regeneration Cllr Akhtar Zaman said: “Venues like this are increasingly popular, offering a modern flexible space where families and friends can relax, socialise, and choose from a wide variety of high-quality food.
“Traders are lining up to secure a unit at the new Bolton Market Food Hall, but we want to see as many applications as possible to ensure our customers have the very best choice.
“Our annual Food and Drink Festival shows Bolton has an appetite for great food stalls.
“With the same team selecting and supporting the traders, I am sure our Food Hall will become a must-visit destination for visitors from Bolton and beyond.”
The new food hall venue was built as part of the £5.59million transformation of Bolton Market financed by the government’s Towns Fund.
The reimagined market is designed to offer greater variety and increase the amount of time visitors spend in the area.
Later opening hours on Fridays and Saturday will help make the hall a popular evening destination for students, families, and residents of new town centre housing developments, say Town Hall chiefs.
The fully licenced venue, will feature modern facilities, climate-control, additional outdoor seating, free Wi-Fi, and an on-site cash machine.

Similar Towns Fund projects nearby include the new Elizabeth Park, the refurbished Central Library, and the new Wellsprings innovation hub.
At the new food hub, the final line up chosen to run the new units will be chosen based on their business cases and supported by the team behind the Bolton Food and Drinks Festival.
They will also be able to use a communal wash pot service and a live entertainment programme including televised sports.
Next month’s drop- in open day will include a guided tour of the hall from 3pm and 6pm on Thursday February 8.
Dozens of traders have already expressed an interest in taking a unit, but Bolton Council is keen to attract as many applications as possible.
The final line-up will be selected based on their business cases and chosen to ensure customers have a wide variety of food and drink options to choose from.
Successful candidates will be supported by the award-winning team behind Bolton Market and the Bolton Food and Drink Festival.
Benefits to traders include: a communal pot wash service, a live entertainment programme, televised sport and close proximity to some of Bolton’s most popular cultural venues.
