Police patrols have been stepped up after a number of cars have been damaged in The Haulgh over the past three days.
All the vehicles, parked in Chadwick Street and Castle Street, are said to have been targeted in the early hours of the morning.
Police believe the incidents are linked and are being committed by one person.
They are appealing for any information and CCTV footage to take their investigation forward.
Police say they will have an increased presence in the area as a result.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police Bolton North said: “In the early of hours of the past three days there have been multiple vehicles damaged in the Chadwick Street and Castle Street area of the Haulgh, Bolton.

“It is believed that these incidents are linked and are being committed by a single person.
“The Bolton North Neighbourhood team are currently investigating these offences.
“If anyone has information or CCTV to assist in investigating these crimes or identifying the offender then please email PS Shaw on 17715@gmp.police.uk with the details.
“There will be an increased Police presence in this area whilst we investigate these offences, prevent further damages and detain this individual.”
