A car was seized but its driver managed to escape after a Saturday night police chase.
The Bolton North Neighbourhood Team had been on patrol on the evening of Saturday when they spotted the black Volkswagen.
On seeing the officers, the driver tried to get away only to hit a dead end.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “We sighted a vehicle which upon seeing a police vehicle in the estate decided he would dart off but unfortunately for him he drove in to a dead end.
“The driver did manage to get away but if he wants his vehicle back then he'll have some difficult questions to answer with Operation Wolverine after we seized it under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act.”
A photograph supplied by police at the scene shows the black Volkswagen being towed away.
This comes amid long running concerns about crime on the roads in Bolton, including speeding, driving without insurance and driving without proper licences.
There have also been recurring issues with drink and drug drivers.
Anyone with any concerns can call police on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
Alternatively, witnesses can call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
