A heavy police and emergency services presence was reported on at Bolton back street last night, Friday.
The police officers and firefighters were seen on Back Bristol Street, Deane at around 8.45pm.
Firefighters from Bolton Central Fire Station were called to the incident but it was mainly dealt with by police.
A fire and rescue service spokesperson said: "We were called out to that, it was just paper.
"It was a small bit of paper that had caught fire, but the police were dealing with it."
Back Bristol Street is found just off Rasbottom Street in Deane with a small park just opposite the back of the houses.
It is mainly made up of the back gardens of a row of terraced houses.
An eyewitness said: “There's high police and fire department presence at Back Bristol Street, Bolton, this evening for undisclosed reasons.”
No injuries or further damage to nearby buildings have been reported as yet as a result of the fire.
