Bolton is being asked to celebrate  International Women’s Day this March with a special tea or tipple event.

Wednesday, March 8, is International Women’s Day, a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of all women.

And to commemorate the day, Fortalice, which supports those who have impacted by domestic abuse, is asking Bolton to celebrate whilst supporting the charity at the same time between March 4 and 10.

Fortalice is asking people to host their event from the end of February to mid-March and on registering they will receive a full Tea or Tipple fundraising pack.

Invite friends, family and or colleagues and choose whether to host a coffee and cake morning, an afternoon tea party or have a night in with drinks, nibbles, and games - whilst donating the funds.

This includes bunting, games, posters to advertise and how to create a fundraising page.

All funds raised from this event will go towards supporting victims and survivors and their children who have been affected by domestic abuse.

A parent whose child used Fortalice’s Children’s Services said: “It’s changed our lives and I feel like I’ve got my little girl back.

“She’s taken all the tools you’ve given her and tried them all and it finally seems to have clicked. She’s a different girl to the one she was a few months ago.”
