A spokesperson for GMP Bolton South Police: "This week local Great Lever officers have been in the community fighting back against those who are causing issues to our community.
"Yesterday evening Sergeant Astbury has stopped a male on Lever Street who had his face covered.
"Following a Section 1 PACE search the subject has been found to possess a screwdriver and a further face mask, these are not items that people ordinarily carry at 01:20 hours.
"As a result, the male was arrested and taken into custody for questioning. Officers will continue to take positive action around any individual who believes it is appropriate to be in possession of such articles during the early hours."
