A large number of arrests have been made this week as part of a crackdown on shoplifting, vehicle crime, and burglaries.
Neighbourhood South shoplifting team arrested eight suspects, which police say resulted in 26 charges for shoplifting and related offences in the town centre.
A spokesperson for Bolton South GMP said: “This week Bolton's Neighbourhood South shoplifting squad have arrested 8 suspects resulting in 26 charges for shoplifting and related offences.
“We will continue to work with our local stores and partners to robustly police this area of work.”

The Bolton North Neighbourhood team have been working into the early hours of the morning in a bid to prevent vehicle crime and burglaries.
They made three arrests and carried out two stop and searches for drugs and weapons.
Officers also attended seven incidents and gathered three pieces of intelligence.
A spokesperson for Bolton North GMP said: “Some officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood team have been working into the early hours of the morning this week to prevent vehicle crime and burglaries.

It comes as the Greater Manchester Police team has been deploying newly recruited officers, supported by senior officers, into Bolton town centre over the last few months to help support security staff and identify theft hotspots.
