More than £6,000 has been raised for local causes thanks to the kindness of local people.
Turton Rotary Club continued its festive tradition of taking Father Christmas round housing estates, which stretches back more than 30 years.
This year they managed to raise £6,018.19 through donations.
Jim Turner from the rotary's community projects team said: “We are delighted with the amount raised and would like to thank the public in the areas in north Bolton we cover for donating so generously either on our sleigh routes or at the supermarkets where we collect at the weekends in December.

“We appreciate the help from the following-the Rotary Club of Bolton with Le Moors for their excellent help with the collections at the supermarkets, RRG Toyota for once again kindly supplying us with our sleigh tow car, The Last Drop Village Hotel for storing our sleigh throughout December, Morrisons Harwood, Asda in Astley Bridge and the Co-Op in Bromley Cross, for allowing us to make our collections at their premises.
“Finally, a big thanks to all our members and friends for their efforts.”
All the monies raised will go directly to help local charities and organisations.
