And it's a wrap!

Volunteers spent the festive period helping gift wrap presents in return for donation and found out this week their 'tree-mendous' efforts raised more than £5,000.

Every year a team of volunteers offer their services to shoppers to raise money for Fortalice.

December marked their 28th year of doing it.

Bolton’s voluntary gift wrappers, Gene Spurr and her dedicated team of volunteers returned to the Market Place Shopping Centre in aid of the Bolton based domestic abuse charity.

The gift wrap service ran from Black Friday weekend all the way through until Christmas Eve, helping any last-minute shoppers and they managed to raise a fantastic total of £5102.86.

Over the past 28 years of festive wrapping, Gene and her team have raised an outstanding total of £130,241.00.

Gill Smallwood, Chief Executive of Fortalice said: “Gene’s dedication to the Christmas Fundraiser is truly admirable, we are so appreciative of her support and all the volunteers who give their time freely.

“This is a brilliant amount which will help to make a difference, thank you to all who donated.”
