A university student turned his own disappointment into a point of inspiration for others.
Uchenna Moses, who is the President of the University of Bolton's Student Union, was meant to go to Spain for a conference, an event he had been looking forward to.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he could not attend, so he planned his own conference, the Bolton Leadership Conference.
The event was held at the University of Bolton, with business leaders speaking on a panel about their own experiences of setbacks and how they fought through them.
The panel included Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Mohammed Ayub, lecturers and professors such as Dr Anchal Garg, Dr Chathurika Sewwandi and Irfan Chhadat, as well as industry leads Dr Rehan Hassan and Andy Roberts.
Co-project leads alongside Uchenna were Ngozi Obiageri and Olajuwon Yakubu.
Uchenna said: "The Bolton Leadership Conference was a platform to inspire the young ones in communities in Bolton and across Greater Manchester.

"It was the meeting point between leaders in industry and aspiring leaders, held at the university. Students could hear about where they started and how they learnt through challenges they faced.
"Self-motivation and resilience are vital in helping individuals, young and old, achieve their dreams or be constantly reminded that their dreams can be achieved.
"Hence, the need to inspire the students I lead is the motive behind the Bolton Leadership Conference. The best and brightest all need self-motivation and resilience."
He added: "I wanted to tell a story. I had been eagerly anticipating an event in Spain, one that promised to be a significant step in my journey.
"I had the option to let it weigh me down or make good news out of it. We had the global conference here in Bolton, the first of its kind.
"The outcome was great, students' feedback on what they got from the event. The most interesting thing about the event was each student got to personal struggles and challenges, academic panel and all the guest speakers.
"Sometimes you are hit by a challenge and think it is the end of the world. But there comes a time for you to make out something from it."
