Here's a look at the current forecast for the week ahead 👇 pic.twitter.com/F3yusbxDTa
Severe weather warnings were in place for snow and ice across the North West as the UK was gripped in a cold plunge of Artic air, which moved in from the north across the whole of the country.
Temperatures fell as low as -3° and a yellow weather warning has been in place since the start of the day.
Temperatures are expected to remain cold over the rest of the week but as of yet snow has only been predicted for today, although the warning is in place until Thursday.
