A man has been charged following a theft from a shop in Bolton.
On December 10, police received reports of a shoplifting from a shop on Tonge Moor Road in Tonge Moor.
And yesterday afternoon, officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team charged a 39-year-old male in connection to this.
John Phelps of Ainsworth Lane has subsequently been charged with shoplifting.
He has been remanded in police custody to appear at Wigan & Leigh Magistrates' Court today.
A police spokesman said: "A man has been charged following a theft from a shop in Bolton. On 10/01/24, police received reports of a shoplifting from a shop on Tonge Moor Road in Tonge Moor.
"Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team arrested a 39-year-old male in connection to this. John Phelps (24/07/1984) of Ainsworth Lane has subsequently been charged with shoplifting.
"He has been remanded in police custody to appear at Wigan & Leigh Magistrates' Court tomorrow (12/01/24)."
