Students at a school in Bolton were treated to a surprise visit to the police station.
The pupils had been learning about the police at Birtenshaw School and wanted to speak to officers.
A spokesman for GMP said: "Staff and pupils from Birtenshaw School made a surprise visit to Bolton police station on Wednesday.
"They had been learning about the police at School and hoped that they could speak to officers and have a photo together. PC Charlesworth and PCSO Jackson were happy to help."
GMP have been making more conscious effort to be involved with their communities.
Recently, the force held community surgeries in places like Morrisons in Bolton Town Centre with information on how to protect against crime.
This included information leaflets on locking cars overnight and not leaving valuables in them.
It also gave away free pens which could be used to write addresses on things like TVs, which could only be seen by the police, as well as purse bells to alert people if their purses were taken.
People stopped during the day to speak to the officers, and GMP would like to hold more surgeries to give people the opportunity to speak to them about crime in their area.
