A Bolton beauty therapist nominated for an award has remembered and paid tribute to her 'beautiful sister' who died suddenly at the age of just 28 after finding out about her shortlist.
Shivonne Flynn, 36, from Halliwell, only opened Maison Reign Aesthetics last April after being in the beauty industry for almost 20 years and has been nominated for an award.
She says the memory of her sister, and her family, has inspired her to carry on reaching for dreams.
For whilst everything was going well in her career, Shivonne's sister Shauna Entwistle-Tyldesley, suddenly died from a brain aneurysm in August 2023.
Shivonne says that Shauna went to sleep after work and did not wake up.

Shivonne said: “It’s been a tough year and at the same time exciting.
“We are still trying to keep going and it’s still difficult, and you wake up and think someone could be taken away from you, but I keep going for her, my children, family, and friends.
“All year we had firsts of everything, her birthday and family’s birthdays, and Christmas and New Years were quite hard.
“We have been brought together as a family.
“I want people to know that dreams are achievable no matter your circumstances, and if you fight hard enough and put yourself above all, you have one life, so live it.”
Shivonne said that she kept going even though she said last year was the “best and worst” year of her life, because of the support from her friends and family.
She said: “I try and keep things positive, and I want everybody to feel good when they leave the salon.
“It was difficult trying to keep the business going, but luckily, I have a fabulous team and they chipped in, and if it wasn’t for my hairdresser Patrick Pye who kept the business open and my team, I don’t think I would have had the salon.

“When people come to my salon, I just want them to feel good about themselves and feel comfortable.”
Shivonne says she has also worked all her life, and at one point, worked two or three jobs doing bartending on weekends, her beauty job when she could fit it in, and disability support work.
This was also whilst raising three children with her partner Damon.
She said: “I wanted to have my own business and grow, and make finances to support my family, and I would love to help my dad retire who has been a truck driver since he was a teenager.
“If it wasn’t for my friends who did this at a cost price I probably wouldn’t be where I am.
“I brought all the materials, and they did the work.
“I didn’t have much savings, but I had a dream for many years, and I finally saved enough for a deposit and rent upfront and had a small budget to get it painted and furnished using the power of Facebook market, and anything I made doing mobile clients to buy new items.
“Luckily, I had supply products to get me started as soon as possible.”
Shivonne was nominated as a finalist for the best new salon in the North West Hair & Beauty Awards, not long after opening her hair, beauty, and training academy.
She has also been nominated as for the nail technician of the year in the awards, including Patrick Pye who was voted for by customers for the hair extension specialist of the year for 2024.
She said: “My team are the reason we were nominated.

“There is always room for improvement, but we are in January and are still busy.
"I want to say a massive thank you to: Patrick Pye hairdresser, Tia Edmondson lash and nails, Cathy Crompton beauty and aesthetics, and Ellie Whelan lash tech."
The new salon on 13 Church Road, Bolton, provides hair, waxing, nails, lashes, a sunbed, fillers, and more, as well as being a beauty training academy.
As Shivonne moves forward with her business, she says she will always remember how Shauna “lit up a room” and how much she laughed and smiled.
