“It’s about making sure that every crime is investigated no matter how trivial the crime might seem, and that there are enough resources and police officers.
“The Home Secretary has been quite clear that forces across the country need to investigate every crime.
“We talked about the importance of making sure that the Government gives funding to local authorities and that spending is efficient.
“When we spoke about resources we talked about the 1,000 new police officers in Greater Manchester from Government funding, and how to get officers can get trained up as soon as possible so they get to get on the frontline.”
Cllr Muslim says that the Government recently revealed that £296m would be invested in pothole repairs across Greater Manchester, and that he would “fighting” to make sure Bromley Cross gets a fair share.
He said: “We don’t know how it will be divided up to each borough, but I’ll be fighting to make sure we get our fair share.
“Bolton being quite large in size and population, means it’s important we get a fair share of the money that reflects that.”
Cllr Muslim says that although he has met the Prime Minister in the past Mr Sunak was “very engaging” and “willing to listen”.
Cllr Muslim said: “He was very engaging and willing to listen, which was quite refreshing.
“I have met him a few times before, so the excitement wears off a little bit, and you sort of get used to it, but it was great.”
