Bikers have targeted another popular park in Bolton.

This time it is believe a quad biker drove on the grass on Moss Bank Park, near the play area.

Bikers have been using local parks for their off-road antics.

In the build up to Christmas both the Moss Bank Junior Football Club had its grounds at the Pavilion wrecked and the Old Rivingtonians ground was also damaged by the actions of bikers.

The second of these were forced to cancel a game due to the state of its ground in Horwich.

The damage at Moss Bank Park was first spotted at the end of last week.

Smithills councillor Roger Hayes hit out at those responsible but acknowledged it was difficult to catch them.

He said: “We have had problems like this before.

“The Church Road Playing Fields have been targeted and so has Barlow Park.

“We can’t put fences up around them.

“If they do catch anybody doing it I hope they through the law at them.

“It is so inconsiderate."

The Bolton News: Other parks in Bolton have had the same issue

Cllr Hayes added: “It is a problem all over here ,it is careless yobs causing this problem.

“They seem to be doing it deliberately.

“Police are overstretched as it is, if they can do something about it they do.

“Catching them is a problem.

“Most of them do not have insurance and do not have reg numbers.

“It is just people who do not care about other people.

“I would urge anyone who know who is doing this to report it to the police or the council.”

The issue of off road bikes in Bolton has previously been raised with police on numerous occasions.

Police have warned the users of them that their vehicles will be seized if they continue to ignore no go signs put in place to deter them.

Officers previously said they would apply for a GMP wide drone unit to tackle the issue.
